Add Person To Group Using Workflows

Is there a way to do this?  I have a workflow that records the initator and want to put that person into a specific group.

    We'll get an action written for this for v4. It will allow you to select a group when configuring the workflow that a person can be added to

    Jeremy,

    Just from looking through the list of actions there doesn't seem to be one.  This is an action I definitely would need as well!

    Not sure if this will fit your needs or not, but there are 'Group Simple Register' and 'Group Simple Register Confirm' blocks that make it easy to add a person to a selected group (without using a workflow).

      David, I think those blocks would solve a few of our use cases, but I'm thinking along the lines of any kind of assimilation or volunteer plug in process, wouldn't adding people to "follow up" groups be a common need? Is there another action that would accomplish the same thing and could it be reported on?

        Our use would be something along the lines of adding someone to a pastoral remit once their connection status was changed to member and then removing them from a pastoral remit when they joined a small group.
