0 Giving Confirmation Email 2 Matthew Meekins posted 10 Years Ago Is there a way to set up giving on the website to send an email each time someone gives or someone's recurring giving goes through?
Jeremy Turgeon 10 years ago I think it would be helpful for one time gifts to always receive an email immediately after giving like the Pledge Entry block does. Recurring gifts would probably just need a one time confirmation of the gift with any details of how often they've asked to be charged and the amount. Maybe even a link back so they could change the gift or view their profile.
Jim Michael 10 years ago Jon- I was completely unaware that there was an option in Payflow to send a receipt to the customer. This would likely meet our needs, and documenting how to set it up would be useful. That said, I wouldn't be against having a simple ability to have Rock send en email for one-time gifts and when setting up a recurring gift, but it would need to be configurable (able to be turned off) so that those using the payment gateway to send the receipts don't have duplicates being sent for every gift.
Jon Edmiston 10 years ago Updated the Finance book to cover how to configure sending emailed receipts. http://www.rockrms.com/Rock/BookContent/15#configuringemailconfirmationsI'll add configuring email receipts to our v5.0 list.
Matthew Meekins 10 years ago Ok, thanks. I'll definitely submit that. Can you think of a workaround if we wanted to do it manually? Maybe a workflow trigger that emails a staff member each time an online giving transaction was created so that we could then send the giver an email manually?
Jeremy Turgeon 10 years ago Yeah, a workflow trigger is your best bet at this point. We have a similar solution for when people sign up for a small group because THAT block doesn't automatically email people either.
Arran France 10 years ago It's worth noting that the small group block will have the ability to email someone in 4.0 (not that I've tested it yet).
Jim Michael 10 years ago I agree that sending a receipt is a necessary feature... and since our current system does this and users are used to it, they would think something was wrong the first time they gave via Rock ;-)
